UFC 253 comes packed with fireworks from both inside the octagon and the betting lines as middleweight king Israel Adesanya settles his grudge with the unbeaten destroyer, Paulo Costa. Both fighters are explosive strikers and with ill will all but guaranteeing heated exchanges. Co-headlining are red-hot fighters Dominick Reyes and Jan Blachowicz facing off for the vacant light heavyweight title. Let's break down these fights and see which bets we can cash.
NHL Predictions Tonight | October 24
With only two hockey games on the NHL schedule tonight, the opportunities to lay a bet are pretty limited. So let’s make them worthwhile, shall we? Tonight, your two games are the Philadelphia Flyers at the Montreal Canadiens, while the Calgary Flames are in Chicago to play the Blackhawks. The Flyers and Habs game will be televised on Sportsnet East and local stations at 7:30 EST, while the Flames and Blackhawks will be on Sportsnet at 8:30 EST.
NHL Predictions For Tonight
Philadelphia Flyers @ Montreal Canadiens Prediction
BET MONTREAL @-147 Coming into tonight’s game, the Habs are one of the top offensive teams, while the Flyers are one of the worst defensive teams. The Habs have scored the second-most goals in the NHL with 20, whereas the Flyers have given up the second most in the NHL at 19. So the outcome is pretty predictable here. It’s very unlikely that Philly will suddenly find their defensive rhythm on the road against one of the hottest teams in the league, this early on in the season. It COULD happen, but we wouldn’t bet on it.
Montreal sits atop the East right now, with 3 straight wins, and no regulation losses on the season. So they’re coming in the game with a heck of a lot more momentum than Philly. Early reviews point to them getting the better end of the Shea Weber/ PK Subban trade, but it’s still very early. On the other side, the Flyers are lukewarm out of the starting block, sitting at 4th in the Metropolitan Division, with 2 wins, 2 losses and an OT loss. They did, however, win their last game 6-3 against Carolina at home, so they are coming off a high-scoring win.
We really see the Habs continuing their hot start this to this season, and Philly is likely only a bump in their road.
Calgary Flames @ Chicago Blackhawks Prediction
BET CHICAGO @-185. So, what better way to rebound after a loss than to play a team that’s already given up 27 goals in 6 games, by far the most in the NHL. The Blackhawks have limped out of the gates on the season and are coming off a loss. But, they’re at home to host the league-worst defense. Just what the doctor ordered. We can see no reason to bet on the Flames on this one. Do so at your own risk.
The Hawks are coming off a shootout win over the lowly Leafs, so some momentum there, but not enough to consider a big deal. Whereas the Flames have lost their last two games, giving up 4 and 6 goals respectively.
If the Calgary Flames were coming home off a road trip, we could see them gaining some footing in their own building. But they’re floundering, and out on the road. So seeing them turning in a solid defensive outing (which they need to beat the Hawks) is unlikely, and too far of a longshot to reasonably bet on.
