Red hot Wings host inconsistent Florida Panthers
A model of consistency, Detroit is well on their way towards a 24th straight playoff appearance as the Red Wings are 17-6-6 and sit second in the Eastern Conference. Backed by the rock solid goaltending of Jimmy Howard, Detroit has won nine of their last twelve games. Although they are playing better than many expected they would, Florida is still largely inconsistent and their 11-8-7 record is good for ninth place in the East. The Panthers longest winning streak is two games and they have accomplished that just twice this season.
Ducks and Oilers complete a home and home series in Edmonton
Following a day off for travel, Anaheim (19-6-5) looks to make it two straight wins over Edmonton (7-17-5) after a 2-1 victory in California on Wednesday. Steering around various injuries and illnesses, the Ducks are rolling again as they have won five in a row to reclaim the top spot in the NHL. Another long season continues in the Alberta capital as Edmonton has recorded just one win in their last 14 contests. The Oilers struggle at both ends of the rink as they average just 2.17 goals for and have allowed 3.34 goals against per game. NHL Parlay Prediction: The Red Wings are favorites at home and the Ducks are road chalk tonight. Detroit looks to avenge a 4-3 home loss to Florida ten days ago while Anaheim looks for win number 14 in 17 games versus the Oilers.
