Arizona vs Chicago: Blackawks Host Coyotes in a Windy City Clash
Coyotes crushing kick starts Hawks playoff push
As top preseason Stanley Cup chalk, by a wide margin, Chicago has some work ahead if they want to live up to their top billing. The Blackhawks are currently for third in the Central Division and fourth overall in the Western Conference. Stumbling slightly as they head into the NHL All-Star break, the Hawks have posted a 5-5-0 record over their last ten contests. The one saving grace in Chicago is they continue to play solid defence as their +35 goals against differential ranks third in the NHL behind Nashville (+39) and St. Louis (+37). All said >>> Chicago is still a Cup contender.
‘Yotes are in tough in their final contest prior to the All-Star break
Dealing with a power failure on offense, things have gone from bad to worse for Arizona who are now minus their third leading scorer Mikkel Boedker. The Coyotes are 2-5-1 this month and have scored just eight goals during a five-game losing run. Arizona did manage to earn a point in their last contest as they lost 4-3 in a shootout to the Jets in Winnipeg on Sunday. Gaining singles isn’t doing the ‘Yotes any good as they are 15 points out of the Western Conference playoff race.
Blackhawks vs Coyotes Call: One wouldn’t blame the Coyotes for having a “let’s get this over with” attitude on the road tonight as this is their final contest before a seven day All-Star break. Knowing a dubious streak can be matched, Chicago won’t totally look past the ‘Yotes with a showdown in Pittsburgh vs the Penguins on tap tomorrow night. All things considered, we will stay slightly conservative here with a 500 unit wager on the Hawks Alternative money line 3 Way (Regulation only) odds. Stay tuned for our pending Super Bowl XLIX picks in the coming days.
