Blackhawks vs Flyers: Chicago has hit NHL playoff mode
After posting a 6-4-3 February record, the Hawks appear to be rounding into playoff form. Though the competition hasn’t been overwhelming, Chicago is 7-1-1 in March and they are five points points the Blues and Ducks in the race for first in the West. A long season about to end as Philadelphia is eleven out of the playoffs. The Flyers are 2-4-5 in March and have lost four straight.
Avalanche vs Oilers: Colorado is cruising on a hope and playoff prayer
Ten points out in the Western Conference, with just ten games left to play and three teams to leap, the Avalanche need a lot of wins and some help to earn a playoff berth. Two straight loses haven’t helped but Colorado is 6-2-1 in March. Edmonton is six points ”behind” Buffalo in the Battle for the Basement as the Sabres have 47 points to the Oilers 53. Not sure why they are trying now but Edmonton has earned six of a possible ten points over their past five games.
