After a brief stay at the very cozy Ottawa Civic Centre, the Sens made their way to the suburbs to set up shop at the building now known as the Canadian Tire Centre. This Kanata-based building has played host to every Senators home game from 1996 onwards. This is an arena that Daniel Alfredsson, Alexei Yashin and Erik Karlsson have all called home.

The Ottawa Civic Centre days featured the Sens in their bottomfeeder incarnation, but it wasn't long after the team arrived in their new digs in Kanata that the team evolved beyond their expansion era stumbles. The building currently known as the Canadian Tire Centre has played host to a host of memorable moments in Senators history. A game 3 win in the 2007 Stanley Cup Finals ranks highly, as does Shaun Van Allen's 2003 OT winner versus the Devils and Ottawa's send-off to Wayne Gretzky in his final Canadian National Hockey League game.
How did the Sens do on home ice last year during their surprise playoff berth clinching season? Not bad. They pulled in three more wins at the Canadian Tire Centre than they did on the road. In the playoffs, it was a different story. The Habs won two of three tightly contested postseason clashes in Ottawa's building to give the Sens a first round heave-ho. Attendance for Senators games has been relatively strong with the Canadian Tire Centre filling to somewhere between 95% and 100% capacity.
