As the CFL’s third oldest franchise, the Calgary Stampeders have become one of the league’s finest teams in recent years. The Stampeders or “Stamps” produced winning records for eight consecutive seasons, the longest active streak in the CFL. They won the division four times in that span and most recently captured the Grey Cup in 2014, the franchise’s seventh overall. Despite new changes to the regime, the Stamps are again expected to dominate and both fans and gamblers cannot wait to profit with them.

Calgary Stampeders Record
2016 will mark the first time in eight years the team has a new coach. Offensive coordinator, Dave Dickenson will take over coaching duties as previous coach, John Hufnagel takes Presidential duties. 2004 is the last year the Stamps failed to make the playoffs. They have come a long way since almost folding in 1985 due to declining attendance. The fans saved the franchise with their “Save our Stamps” campaign.
The Stampeders have a storied rivalry with both the Saskatchewan Roughriders and provincial cousin, Edmonton Eskimos. The Stampeders generally defeat both teams (and everyone else in the division) during the regular season but have struggled against them in the playoffs going 1-4 against the Roughriders and 2-3 against the Eskimos in their last five playoff meetings.
Even with the retirement of super running back, Jon Cornish and the loss of several key receivers, the Stamps will still boast a powerful offense led by 2014 Grey Cup MVP, Bo Levi Mitchell. The stout defense gets underrated behind the offense but with several key additions at linebacker, the Stamps should reestablish their overall dominance in the league.
The Stampeders remain perennial Grey Cup contenders and they thoroughly impress in the regular season. But they still have a habit of falling short in the playoffs especially against their bitter rivals, the Roughriders and Eskimos. But so long as Mitchell and key players on both offense and defense remain in top form they can be counted on to at least make the playoffs.
