Los Angeles has a chance to win its 11th game in the last 12 played with a sweep of the Detroit Tigers on Sunday afternoon. Mid-season acquisition Zack Greinke will look to stay hot of late, winning three straight starts while posting a miniscule ERA of 1.66. The Greinke of late is what the Angels were expecting when they acquired him from the Brewers at the trade deadline but he struggled mightily when he first arrived in Anaheim.
Tigers Relying on Sanchez to End Skid Against Angels
Detroit will be sending its own mid-season acquisition to the hill this afternoon in the person of Anibal Sanchez, acquired from the Marlins at the deadline. Sanchez, like Greinke struggled upon arriving to his new home but has been pitching very well of late. He is just 1-1 in his last three starts but has pitched to the tune of a 0.92 ERA in that span. Sanchez has not faced the Angels as a member of the Tigers but last pitched against them with the Marlins in 2011.
