UFC 253 comes packed with fireworks from both inside the octagon and the betting lines as middleweight king Israel Adesanya settles his grudge with the unbeaten destroyer, Paulo Costa. Both fighters are explosive strikers and with ill will all but guaranteeing heated exchanges. Co-headlining are red-hot fighters Dominick Reyes and Jan Blachowicz facing off for the vacant light heavyweight title. Let's break down these fights and see which bets we can cash.
CFL Thursday Night Football Week 10
CFL Football Thursday Games
How about a little bit of East vs West this weekend? The CFL has cross conference games in 3 of the 4 games. On paper, this favors all the west teams. Big time. The West has all but one of their teams over .500. The Roughriders are the only “Losing team” and they would be second in the East right now, with a record of 3-4. Meanwhile, The Argos lead the East with a 4-5 win last week, regaining the lead after Montreal (who they beat) held the top spot for a week.

The CFL playoff race is starting to heat up in a big way. So let's stop yapping and look at the matchups.
- Winnipeg Blue Bombers (6-2) @ Montreal Alouettes (3-5) (Thursday, August 24 at 7:30 PM)
This is a revenge game of sort for Montreal. Winnipeg started their current 4-game winning streak with a 41-40 thriller against these same Alouettes. They’ve currently lost 3 of 4 games. They looked like they may have gained some traction against Toronto two weeks ago, only to lose in The 6ix last weekend in a 32 point beating. Where did the offense go? Will it be back this weekend?
Nope. Blue Bombers will keep rolling with a solid road win. They beat the undefeated Eskimos last weekend and can handle Montreal.
Prediction: Winnipeg Blue Bombers -2.5 (-111) at Sports Interaction
- Saskatchewan Roughriders (3-4) @ Edmonton Eskimos (7-1) (Friday, August 25th at 9:30 PM)
This one is far more complex than a first place team versus the last place team. The Riders’ defense is legit. They’re giving up 24.5 points a game, compared to 25.25 the first place Eskimos are giving up.
Meanwhile, the Eskimos are a bit pissy after losing their first game of the season in Winny last weekend. But they’re not as good as their record, in my humble betting opinion. They’re not lighting up scoreboards, they’ve scored the second fewest points in the west this season, behind the Riders (and the Riders have played one fewer games). They haven’t been blowing anybody out, even the eastern conference teams they played at home. Hell, they only beat the Tiger-cats by a field goal.
However, they’re showing us they know how to win close games. Which counts for a lot. So I’m betting they win the best game of the weekend at home.
Prediction: Edmonton Eskimos -7 (-122) at Sports Interaction
- British Columbia Lions (5-2) @ Ottawa Redblacks (2-6) (Saturday, August 26th at 3:30 pm)
The Saturday afternoon game will be a good one. A lot of experts are calling this one even. I’m not going that far, but I think it will be a close one.
I think the Lions are coming into to this game with a little bit of stank. And Ottawa actually has a dash of swagger. Team Red picked up their second win of the season last week with a much-needed spanking of Hamilton. But prior to that, they lost 3 in a row, then a win, and three straight before that. Meanwhile, BC has lost two in a row. A game they had no business winning against the Riders and a game they should have won last week against the Stamps.
The Lions are the better team and will be the second west team to drink an east’s milkshake this weekend.
Prediction: Prediction: BC Lions (+1) -111 at Sports Interaction
- Toronto Argos (4-5) @ Calgary Stampeders (6-1) (Saturday, August 26th at 9:00 PM)
Only two teams in the East have won on the road ALL season, and neither of those wins came in the West. So to recap, absolutely no teams from the east have won in the west, all freaking year and we’re in Week 10 here, people.
The Argos are so close to a .500 record they can taste it. But that’s as close as they will get for a while, because they’ll lose on the road, and the west will run the table this weekend.
