The worst team in the West would EASILY be leading the East right now, with BC Lions 5-5 .500 record being far better than Ottawa’s 4-6-1 mark. But that Ottawa team tied the league’s best team in the Calgary Stampeders. And those Stamps also lost to the free falling and now-second place Toronto Argos. My world makes no sense.

This weekend will be fun. We’ve got a rematch from last weekend’s Eskimos and Stampeders game, with Edmonton desperately needing a win. We’ve also got another rematch with the Blue Bombers and the Roughriders throwing down again. Let’s not babble anymore about it and get into some predictions.
On paper, this one does not look good for Montreal. It’s not going to look much better on the field either. Both of these teams have dropped 3 straight games, but BC has the better team and they’re at home.
Also, BC was in all their games, whereas 2 of Montreal’s losses were savage ass-kickings. Neither of these teams has momentum. And they’re both coming in with chips on their shoulders. But BC has the advantage.

The Roughriders are on a mini tear, after starting out at disappointing one and four. They've won their last three games and want everybody in the west to know they are for realsies.
Whereas Winnipeg wants revenge. They have their own six game winning streak until it was snapped last week by the same riders. Saskatchewan won decisively too, by 14 points. That's enough to piss Winnipeg off and give them any extra incentive that they need to get fired up for their rematch at home.
I like the Blue Bombers getting off to an early start, and getting back on the winning track.

Well, it happened. Hamilton took advantage of their best chance to win all year round. And they might not win again. But still, they put aside all the scandalous headlines of sex offending coaches, and washed up former Heisman Trophy winners, and just went out and played a game of football. Can they turn that when into a winning streak? no. Let's get real.
The reality is they are playing on the road, where they have not won yet this year. Where they probably will not win this year. And they're playing a division leaving Ottawa team, that has won three straight games and are beaming with confidence. Ottawa has recovered from a disastrous start, and do not feel like heading over there momentum anytime soon. Back to back wins and they can be the only team in the Eastern Conference with a winning record. Don't pretend these things don't matter.
Hamilton puts up a fight early, but the game goes to Ottawa.

The Sunday game features the most interesting matchup of the weekend. The Edmonton Eskimos are suddenly struggling. They've fallen from talk of an undefeated season (granted, not serious talk) to losing their last three games. They have also lost the lead in the west and the overall league to these same Stampeders.
With the West being so ridiculously competitive they can't afford to go on a prolonged slide. They need to get back on the winning track immediately, and I predict they will. This is gonna be a fight. Probably the best game of the weekend, but I have Edmonton coming out on top.
