UFC 253 comes packed with fireworks from both inside the octagon and the betting lines as middleweight king Israel Adesanya settles his grudge with the unbeaten destroyer, Paulo Costa. Both fighters are explosive strikers and with ill will all but guaranteeing heated exchanges. Co-headlining are red-hot fighters Dominick Reyes and Jan Blachowicz facing off for the vacant light heavyweight title. Let's break down these fights and see which bets we can cash.
Boxing Day 2017: Premier League Games, Odds, Picks on Christmas
Try to take it easy on the Christmas cocktails, or at least get to bed early. Because Premier League Boxing day soccer kicks off at 1 pm in the UK, which is 9 am in Eastern Canada, 8 am in Ontario, and more and more sleepy as we work our way west in Canada. So, if you’re in Vancouver, you may be best off not going to bed at all and just push right through. Let’s take a look at the day’s matchups and where the smart bets are (all odds provided by Sports Interaction).
Bournemouth vs West Ham United
Coming off a tough loss to Arsenal where they could only manage a single shot, West Ham is looking to rebound. Meanwhile, Bournemouth hasn’t tasted victory since November 18th. They are winless in their last 6 matches, including a 4-0 drubbing at the hands of Liverpool in their last outing.
Prediction: Western Ham United (2.93)
Chelsea FC vs Brighton and Hove Albion
It’s been a rough go for Brighton recently. They have only found the net once in December. Sadly, in that game, they lost 5-1 to Liverpool. Since then they dropped a 2-0 game to Huddersfield, another 2-0 to Tottenham, and a 0-0 draw to Burnley. So someone needs to gift them some spark for the New Year
Prediction: Chelsea FC (1.19)
Crystal Palace vs Arsenal
Arsenal has a tough match in Liverpool earlier that week, then back home to play Crystal Palace a few quick days later. So they will have the benefit of staying at home for Christmas and sleeping in their own beds.
But it’s for that reason I’m betting against them. There’s a level of comfort and complacency that goes with all that. Meanwhile, Crystal Palace FC goes into the match pissed off they have to travel and as the underdog. I like their odds.
Prediction: Crystal Palace (4.56)
Huddersfield Town vs Stoke City
After losing 4 tough matches in a row, Huddersfield looks like they’re starting to figure it out slightly and have won 2 of their last 3 games. Meanwhile, Stoke City has lost 5 of their last 6 matches and are bleeding pretty badly. Will they turn it around Boxing Day? Nah.
Prediction: Huddersfield Town (2.59)
Liverpool vs Swansea City
Coming off a nice 4-0 win over Bournemouth and a big match against Arsenal this week, I like their odds going into a Boxing Day date with Swansea City. Meanwhile, Swansea has been outscored 7-1 in their last two matches again Man. City and Everton.
Prediction: Liverpool FC (1.16)
Manchester United vs Burnley
Burnley FC is going into this one a predictably massive underdog. And for good reason. They won’t win. If you want to bet on a Christmas miracle, bet against Man U. But I’ll be playing it safe on this one.
Prediction: Manchester United (1.20)
Newcastle United vs Manchester City
Meanwhile, Man City is also favored to win big over Newcastle
Yes, this one is the day after Boxing Day, but we know you’ll be watching.
Prediction: Manchester City (1.24)
