You may not have heard this, but The Atlanta Falcons blew a 28-3 lead in the Super Bowl. That quote and meme still haunt them everywhere they go, and it will literally take a Super Bowl win to exorcise the demons of a year ago. It’s been the chip on their shoulder pads all year, and they know this can easily become their legacy. Unless they win, they’re chokers of a historical status, or another footnote in the Patriots’ dynasty storybook.
I have a hard time not taking the Falcons here. They’re more experienced, and more talented, as both teams sit right now. Carson Wentz at QB? Different story, and different game altogether. But my brain is simply refusing to process a scenario where Matt Ryan goes down in the playoffs to… Nick Foles. So I’m taking the Dirty Birds all the way to the Super Bowl in a rematch with The Patriots. Top-heavy standings aren’t great for diversity in the NHL (Penguins), NBA (Warriors and Cavs) or NFL (Pats). But it does make for sound betting strategies.

And then he went 4/11 before relinquishing the game to backup-backup, turned-backup Nate Sudfeld in a meaningless/ scoreless finale against the Cowboys.
In the two relevant games behind his arm, the Eagles are scoring 26.5 points a game. That’s just slightly above the even 26 points per game the Eagles averaged for the whole season. Here’s hoping he can dig deep and help the Eagles win their first playoff game since 2008. Not betting on that, though... Pulling for him, but not betting on him
Meanwhile, what can you say about the Atlanta Falcons? Atlanta scored 22.1 points a game, while holding teams to 19.7 points per night. They were impressive last week against a tough Rams team, and have won 4 of their last 5 games overall. Let’s be honest though, they really did win the seeding lottery by Philly being so good for so long and clinching the bye, but still being undermanned. We’re literally talking about a No. 1 seed being the underdog in its playoff opener against a No. 6 for the first time in NFL history.
It’s OK. Philly fans are even-tempered and reasonable, right?
