UFC 253 comes packed with fireworks from both inside the octagon and the betting lines as middleweight king Israel Adesanya settles his grudge with the unbeaten destroyer, Paulo Costa. Both fighters are explosive strikers and with ill will all but guaranteeing heated exchanges. Co-headlining are red-hot fighters Dominick Reyes and Jan Blachowicz facing off for the vacant light heavyweight title. Let's break down these fights and see which bets we can cash.
UFC 236: Two title fights, two electric performers
UFC Odds and betting lines are like that of no other sport. When one punch can turn a loss into a victory, the fates can turn in an instant. As far as UFC 236 Odds are concerned, the bookmakers have established two clear betting favorites.
Two UFC interim title fights will take place from the State Farm Arena on April 13, as Kelvin Gastelum and Israel Adesanya lock horns to decide the Middleweight Title that Robert Whittaker is unable to defend due to injury.
And then current Featherweight Champion Max Holloway steps up to Lightweight in an attempt to become "Champ, Champ".

Holloway vs Poirier 2
Mad Max: Fury Road
Max Holloway (20-3) is on a 13 fight win streak that dates back to January 2014. The last man to defeat the current UFC Featherweight Champion was none other than Conor McGregor. However all the way back at UFC 143 it was Dustin "The Diamond" Poirier (24-5) who was almost left without an opponent for the card when two fighters had to pull out due to injury. Holloway, who was 20 at the time with only 4 pro fights, stepped in and took the fight on short notice. Poirier tapped Holloway in the first round with an armbar traingle and won submission of the night.
However "Blessed" Max Holloway's career trajectory has skyrocketed and he is in the discussion for one of the best pound for pound fighters on planet Earth.
However, in what will be no discredit to how amazing Max Holloway is, I'm taking the underdog in this one. As a fighter more accustomed to the weight division Poirier has a significant experience advantage at 155 lbs.
Furthermore 18 of Holloways 20 career wins have come by KO or Decision and two have come by submission. Of Poirier's 24 career wins 12 have been by KO, 7 by submission and 5 by decision. This is the resume of a well rounded mixed martial artist who is comfortable regardless of the scenario. In a fight where the margins of exploitation will be very narrow, Poirier has more ways to exploit his naturally smaller opponent.
PICK: Dustin Poirier +195

Gastelum vs Adesanya
Can Israel reach the Promise Land?
Israel Adesanya looks to be the next great star in the sport of mixed martial arts, but has all the hype gone to his head? Was his inability to put away an over the hill Anderson Silva just a fluke or signs that he still has room for growth? Of his 16 career fights, all wins, 13 by KO and 3 by decision, the Last Stylebender has yet to face one of the elite elite fighters in the sport; one who is crafty enough to neutralize his physical gifts and take him into deep waters.
And if in fact Adesanya favors the TKO/KO path to success, than this is a bad matchup for that approach. Kelvin Gastelum (16-3) who himself is in the prime of his career at age 27, has never been knocked out. However there is a much more forseeable path for Gastelum to steal this one. He makes its a sloppy, boring fight where he keeps Adesanya against the cage, tries to score with takedowns and dirty boxing and doesn't allow the distance to be at a range that favors his longer more dynamic opponent.
Call me crazy, but I like the upset here as well.
PICK: Kelvin Gastelum +160
