Detroit Tigers: Headed for repeat in American League
Detroit won the 2012 American League title to advance to the World Series, where they were swept by the San Francisco Giants in four games. Detroit had swept the New York Yankees in the ALCS, giving them a five-day layoff in between series, which could have caused their offensive woes in the Fall Classic. They should have no trouble repeating as American League champions once again in 2013.
Toronto Blue Jays: Strongest threat to Detroit in AL
With all of the upgrades made in the off-season by the Blue Jays, Toronto should be the strongest threat to the Tigers in the American League this season. The Blue Jays have added a slew of talent including NL Cy Young winner R.A. Dickey. Also new to the team are Jose Reyes, Josh Johnson, and Melky Cabrera. The Blue Jays have not made the playoffs since they won the World Series in 1993.
