Like his team around him, Max Scherzer is looking to break out of a mini funk as he faces the Mariners at 4:10 PM ET at Safeco Field in Seattle. The Tigers ace is 6-1 with a 3.00 ERA but 12 of his 24 earned runs allowed have come in his last two starts. Roenis Elias (3-4 ERA 4.02) starts for the Mariners and the rookie is in a funk of his own as he has a 0-2 record with a 5.33 ERA over his last four starts. We like the Motor City Cats here.
Los Angeles vs Pittsburgh: Dodgers Greinke faces Pirates Voquez
Beginning to show flashes of why they were heavy preseason chalk, the Dodgers send RHP Zack Greinke to mound to close out their three game set with the Pirates. Grienke (8-1 ERA 2.18) has been lights out this year allowing just 16 earned runs while striking out 76 over his 66 innings pitched. Edinson Volquez (2-4 ERA 4.30) gets the call for Pirates as he looks for his first road win after given up 15 runs over 24 innings in games away from PNC Park this season. Side with Los Angeles in this contest slated for 8:07 PM ET at Dodger Stadium.
