Eskimos rock solid defense is getting the job done
Sitting with a 5-1 record, tied for first place in the West (placed second due to tie-breakers) with provincial rival Calgary, Edmonton is one of the more surprisingly good teams in the CFL season. Led by a defense that is giving up just 17 points per game, and leads the league in pass defense, plus yards and first downs allowed, while getting a very solid 27 PPG from the offense, this Eskimos team is for real. The Green and Gold are on the road for a second straight week as they are coming off a 33-23 Week 7 win over Montreal last Friday.

Understanding that this a second straight road game for the Eskimos, we were surprised to see Edmonton as just a one TD favorite here. The days of Ottawa being large double-digit dogs consistently, at home or away, are coming as the Redblacks look like the expansion team they are. The Eskimos thumped Ottawa 27-11 in Edmonton during Week 3 CFL action and we expect a similar result here.
