NFL Week 6 Money Line Best Value: San Diego vs Oakland
San Diego is a force to be reckoned with in the AFC
Owners of a 4-1 record, that includes four straight wins, the Chargers have picked up where they left off last season. San Diego closed the 2013 NFL regular season with four straight wins and then bashed the Bengals before losing by a TD to the Broncos in the playoffs. The Bolts lone loss this year was in Week 1 as they gave up 14 fourth quarter points to the Cardinals who squeaked out a 18-17 win in Arizona. Very quietly, San Diego is building one the of the best defensive units in the NFL - to go along with a very efficient offense.
Chargers snuff you on defense and then light you up on offense
Over their last eleven contests, regular season and playoff games included, the Chargers have posted a 9-2 record and they have outscored their opponents by a combined 294-168 final count. In their five games this season, the Bolts defense has given up and average of 12.6 points per game while the offense has lit up the scoreboard with 26.6 PPG. San Diego shutout the Jets 31-0 last week allowing 151 total yards - a ridiculous 2.8 yards per play. Chicago in 1985 and Baltimore in 2000 were the last teams to post back-to-back shutouts and they both won the Super Bowl that season. Will the Bolts be the third team to do it in 30 years?
Bolts have bashed the Raiders in contests at 0.co Coliseum
We haven't talked about the Raiders as there's not much to discuss. Oakland is 0-4 (by a combined 103-51 count) and they have lost 12 of their last 13 games - including ten straight. The Chargers, before they really got rolling last season, committed five turnovers in Oakland and lost 27-17 in Week 5 before coming back with a 26-13 home win in Week 16. Prior to that, the Bolts beat the Raiders 22-14 (2012) and 38-26 (2011) on the road and they are 8-2 in games played at O.co Coliseum dating back to the 2004 NFL season. NFL 2014 Week 6 Money Line Best Bet: With games against the Chiefs and Broncos up next, and despite this being a road game, we don't see the Bolts looking past Oakland here. Though not big on stuff like "locks of the week" and such - we absolutely love the Chargers here.
