After a sluggish 2-3-1 season start, St. Louis is playing like the team we figured would challenge for the Stanley Cup this season as they have posted a 7-1 record over their last eight games. That said, the Blues stellar play recently hasn't been without some struggles as six of the seven wins were decided by just one goal. St. Louis has had a couple of days off as they haven't played since a 2-1 home loss to Nashville on Saturday night. Rock solid defensively, the Blues have averaged just 1.93 goals against over 14 games.
Buffalo Sabres slumping NHL cellar dwelling season continues
Last overall in the NHL with a 3-11-2 record, picking an area that Buffalo needs to improve on is a difficult task as there are just so many of them. The Sabres 18 goals scored is the lowest in the league while their 53 goals allowed is the highest. Buffalo has been outshot by a 37.4 to 22.2 per game average and their power play is downright dreadful as the Sabres have just two goals during their 50 opportunites. Coming off a 6-1 pounding at home versus Pittsburgh on Saturday, Buffalo has just one win during regulation time this season.
Blues vs Sabres Prediction: We were wondering aloud what the bookmakers were going to do with games involving the Sabres moving forward. Apart from pulling them off the board completely, the answer is in the odds as the prices to bet against Buffalo continue to skyrocket.
