Whatever the opposite of momentum is, they have it. The Montréal Canadiens have been outscored 10 to 3 in their last two games. They have also been held to one or zero goals in four of the six losses.

I predicted their last loss against the San Jose Sharks, and I added that I didn't see the Habs winning again and till they went home to play the Panthers. Simply put, the Habs are playing with no offense, no chemistry, and no confidence whatsoever right now. It's pretty rare for a team to pull itself out of a tailspin on the road. And it's not gonna happen tonight. The ducks will win and snap their own 2 game losing streak.
Buckle up sports fans. Tonight we have a matchup of the two worst offensive teams in the entire National Hockey League. The Anaheim Ducks are only averaging two goals per game on the season. Meanwhile, the Montréal Canadiens are averaging 1.43 goals per game this season. They are the only ones averaging below two goals in the entire NHL. so don't expect to run out of red gold light lightbulbs tonight. This is probably going to be a struggle. Montreal has the better goalie, but I just can't see them stringing together enough goals to win a road game tonight. Even if it is against a struggling Ducks team.
Anaheim has been pretty weak so far this year. They have two wins, which is obviously double the amount that their opponents have coming in tonight. And their soul two wins came at home. They have not won a single game on the road yet. they would really love to get tonight's home win before they go on a four-game a road trip next week, with games against the Flyers, the Panthers, the Lightning, and the Hurricanes. That's gonna be a rough week so they would love to snap their losing streak before going out on the road.
Montreal is in the opposite position. They would love to stop the bleeding before they go home for a 3 game homestand against the Panthers, the Kings, and the Rangers. In every other game preview for the Habs so far this season we have touched on the tough schedule the Montréal Canadiens had to start the season. This level of offensive incompetence is just on acceptable. Do you want to know the kicker? They're getting shots on goal. They are actually fourth in the NHL and shots on goal, averaging 36.6 per night. They just suck right now and can't put the puck in the net. So far this season, they've been outscored by a total of 16 goals, which is The worst in the NHL, even worse than the winless Phoenix Coyotes.
If you're hoping for an offensive irruption tonight, it's probably not gonna happen. The Ducks are very average defensively, as Anaheim is giving up 2.75 goals per game. But their offense is just killing them. I predict Anaheim will get back in the win column tonight, and the Habs will continue to let their backbones slide.
