UFC 253 comes packed with fireworks from both inside the octagon and the betting lines as middleweight king Israel Adesanya settles his grudge with the unbeaten destroyer, Paulo Costa. Both fighters are explosive strikers and with ill will all but guaranteeing heated exchanges. Co-headlining are red-hot fighters Dominick Reyes and Jan Blachowicz facing off for the vacant light heavyweight title. Let's break down these fights and see which bets we can cash.
CFL Thursday Night Football Week 14
CFL Football Thursday Games
This is really one of the best times of year for football fans, where the CFL season is in perfect stride, and the NFL season is just starting to gear up. That means there's a lot of football widows out there. But you can be a good husband by making some money on the football you're watching. So let's save your marriage with this week's picks.

Interesting week in the CFL. It seems like every week, we have a matchup between two teams that can take control of the Eastern Conference. That's how bad things are. A team that's 5-7 shouldn't be in the hunt to win the conference. But here we are. With the Argonauts and Redblacks combining for the same amount of wins as the Western Conference-leading Calgary Stampeders, yet battling for the lead in their own futile conference.
- Ottawa (5-7-1) at Winnipeg Blue (8-3) (Friday, September 22 at 8 PM)
Winnipeg is back at it after a bye week, last weekend. They are currently sitting in second place in the competitive Western Conference, behind the red-hot Stampeders, and The ice-cold Eskimos. Sorry, there was no avoiding that pun.
Meanwhile, Ottawa presents a unique challenge to Winnipeg. Yes, they are the leaders of a garbage conference right now. However, Ottawa has actually been money on the road this year. They have more road wins than the rest of the Eastern conference combined. Obviously, they are also the only team in the East with a winning road record.
But I have a hard time picking Ottawa here. The Bombers are well-rested, and the better team, and playing at home. This is not a good week for Ottawa to try to climb to within a game of a winning record.
Prediction: The Winnipeg Blue Bombers at Sports Interaction
The Cats' wide receiver Mike Jones has just been suspended two games for violating the league's drug policy. And he really did that at a stupid time. Not that there's ever a good time, obviously. But, I was just starting to believe this team could be the feel-good story of The CFL season. I legitimately felt good about them making the playoffs after a humiliating 0-8 start. Jones was not exactly a superstar, with 25 catches for 267 yards on the season, but they don't need this right now. It's all hands on deck.
All the signs were there. They somehow overcame controversial coaching staff decisions, and working out embattled former Heisman Trophy winners to win consecutive games. Yes, that put them in the hunt in the East. Then they lose a tough one at home last weekend to a very good Saskatchewan team. They have seven games left, with four of them being on the road. I'm cheering for them, but I'm not betting on them.

Toronto desperately wants to get back to .500 football and regain control of the Eastern Conference. They have played pour-to-average lately, but fortunately, so has the rest of the Eastern Conference. Take their opponents this weekend for example....
The Montreal Alouettes are free falling out of control right now. They have lost their last five games in a row, since threatening for the lead in the East. they are also the only team in the CFL without one goddamn road win all season.
I'm having a really hard time figuring out this Toronto team. The last time these two teams played in Toronto earlier this season, Toronto won by 32 points. But then, Toronto went on to lose to the best team in the CFL and the worst team in the CFL in consecutive weeks. Then, they regained their footing last weekend, with the rock-solid win at home against the Eskimos. Mind you, you could argue that Edmonton is the only team playing worst football than Montreal right now. But I'm predicting Toronto will win.
Prediction: The Toronto Argonauts at Sports Interaction
- Calgary (10-1-1) at Saskatchewan (6-5) (Sunday, September 24 at 4 PM)
The Stampeders look awesome right now. They have seemingly found the stride of a champion, so let's examine the odds that Saskatchewan can end the current winning streak.
First of all, as great as they have looked, Calgary is prone to disappointing performances. Their only loss and their only tie of the season came to weaker Eastern Conference teams. Granted, both of those games were at least on the road. But this game will also be on the road. Also, the Riders have the leagues second best statistical defense, and a rock-solid four in one home record. This will be the best game of the weekend, and I'm predicting a win for the home team.
Prediction: The The Saskatchewan Roughriders at Sports Interaction
