This week, there are lots of interesting matchups. The Texans have already won this week, with a 13-9 win over the Cincinnati Bengals, after an emotional loss last week, at home. The Texans are 1-1, but they’ve only scored 20 points all season. That’s concerning, considering that 3 of the losing teams scored 20 points last Sunday alone.
The Patriots are in the middle of their first losing season since.. Ok they’re only 0-1. The defending champs opened up the season by getting their milkshake drank at home. A lot of experts are calling it a blessing in disguise. Now they’re a bit hungrier, a bit more humble and can just focus on football.
Of course, they would rather not be 0-1 and coming off a loss to go on the road to play Drew Brees and the Saints. This is a match up for two QBs who are a combined 221 years old, but it will be an entertaining one. Both of these teams showed piss poor defense in Week 1 so we’ll see if either team can get a stop. I expect the Patriots to win a shootout.

Both of these teams started off with sloppy-ish wins in Week 1, against some pretty weak teams in the Jets and 49ers, respectively.
These are two teams most people are counting out, but I’m actually predicting a late surge from both. Both have harder than hell schedules to start the year (Carolina has 4 road games in October alone), so both teams desperately needed last week’s win and will come strongly to this one. I’m taking the Panthers at home.

The Jets are bad enough. Why are we asking them to start out the season on the road for their first two games? You guys at the NFL are mean. Seriously though, they’re starting 0-2, let’s be totally clear about that.
But, they are playing against a Raiders team that’s got some new pieces and still trying to figure things out. So if NY scores early and jumps out to an early lead, they can make it interesting. Notice how I didn’t say they can win. I’m calling The Raiders going 2-0, and the Jets going 0-2.

Monday’s game will be a hell of a lot of fun.
The Giants will open the season with four of six on the road. So getting this game against a weaker Lions team is a near must. They need to play .500 football during this stretch or they’re going to have too tough a time digging themselves out of the hole and into the playoffs. So this home game is a big one.
Meanwhile, the Lions are out to show they’re better than people have predicted. They opened the season by putting 35 points on the board at home against Arizona. That’s certainly not nothing.
