NFL Thursday Night Football: Chiefs at Raiders Online Betting
Chiefs at Raiders NFL Week 7
Beast mode engaged! I am extremely excited to watch tonight's matchup. It's the past and the present versus the future. Marshawn Lynch has been a Hall of Fame running back since he picked up the pigskin. And this week he's going against the next big thing. Kareem Hunt has had a special rookie season so far and looks to show the Beast and the rest of the world that they should very much believe the hype.
Prediction: The Kansas City Chiefs at Sports Interaction
I can't get behind the Raiders this weekend, even though they are the home team. They have actually played like crap at home, with 2 of the losses in their 4-game losing streak coming on their home field. And they could only muster 17 and 16 point performances. I've got the Kansas City Chiefs getting back in the win column with a solid road win in a very public Thursday night game showcase. So far they've had to adapt to both a Monday night game and a Thursday night game. I like them winning a very close one this evening.
The Raiders are definitely struggling right now and certainly not living up to anybody's possible Super Bowl expectations I thought that was a bit of a stretch, to begin with. But they have lost 4 straight games and are tied for the second-worst record in the AFC, behind the winless Cleveland Browns. I can't even talk about the Browns right now, I'm so mad at them. But back to the Raiders. So far, the offense has been a very big problem. They had a rock solid start to the season with 26 points on the road, and a 45 point irruption against the New York Jets, but have not been able to score more than 17 points since, during this 4-game slide.
Defensively, Oakland is only averaging 21 points against per game this season. Not bad, but certainly not enough to make it for the abysmal offense of production. Offensively, Oakland is only averaging 20.7 points per game, through 6 games. They are also third worst in the NFL in total yardage, averaging 278.3 yards per game. As for Lynch, He hasn't been the game breaker he used to be. He is only had 257 yards on 70 carries, with two touchdowns.
As for KC, last week, Kareem Hunt add his first taste of humble pie. He was effectively shut down against the Pittsburgh Steelers, and he was held to 21 yards, on 9 carries, for a non-productive 2.3 yards per drive, with zero touchdowns. The Chiefs were held to 30 yards rushing total for the whole game, easily their worst output. They also only put up 13 points on the board, and the Pittsburgh Steelers defense showed they are very much a force to be reckoned with, and a lot of teams need to be afraid of them come playoff time.
But that was last week, technically. The Chiefs only had a few days to practice, rest their injuries, and look at game film, then fly to Oakland. The shortened week for them does favor The Raiders. But that's the only reason I'm predicting Kansas City won't completely blow them out of the water.
I predict the young fella will outshine Marshawn, and put on a rushing exhibition. The Raiders can study the game film and isolate some of the offensive weaknesses that Pittsburg exposed last week. But they’ve simply got too many of their own offensive problems. They have to outscore KC in this one, and I don’t think they can.
