NHL Predictions Tonight | December 20
It’s Tuesday, December 20th, 2016. While the rest of Canada is on auto-pilot until the holidays, our beloved boys on skates don’t have that luxury. They have to keep us entertained in this dreadful week leading up to the holiday season. And god bless them for it. Every one. So with a full night of games in the NHL tonight, let’s see where the smart bets are to make you some more Christmas shopping money.
NHL Predictions For Tonight
The Anaheim Ducks @ The Montréal Canadiens Prediction
BET THE DUCKS. The Canadiens continue to sputter along, and cling to the lead atop the Atlantic. They did win their last game, after dropping two games in a row to the Sharks and the Bruins, respectively. They are statistically still one of the top teams in the NHL, both offensively and defensively. But they just haven’t been able to string together any sort of winning streak since they won 4 in a row in November.
They’re extremely vulnerable, going up against the Ducks, who can put the puck in the net. They are currently on one ducking hell of a road trip, but have won 5 of their last 7 games. They’re confident and focused and will take the road game.
The Ottawa Senators @ The Chicago Blackhawks
BET THE HAWKS. The Hawks are hawt, with a 5-game winning streak on the line tonight as they entertain the Senators in Chi-town.
The Senators have seemingly stopped the bleeding, after losing 3 in a row, and 4 out of 5 games. They’ve since patched up and won 2 in a row, including a nice 6-2 road win Sunday against the Islanders. Meanwhile, the Hawks are playing like champions, and have a nice cushy road stretch ahead of them. They won’t play another road game until the 29th, and they know now is the time to strike. We have them winning at home
The LA Kings @ The Columbus Blue Jackets Prediction
BET THE JACKETS. Nobody is hotter than the Blue Jackets right now. They’re seeking a 10th straight win tonight as they play host to the Kings. They’ve done it with the D. They’re currently the second best defensive team in hockey, and over their winning streak they have only let opponents score 3 times in their last game against the Canucks.
You combine that with a Kings team that struggles to score and are only 6-9-1 on the road this year. That’s bad news because they have 4 more games on the road that will follow this one. Tonight is not their night.
The Winnipeg Jets @ The Vancouver Canucks Prediction
BET THE JETS. A fun, all Canada clash in this game.
The Canucks remain one of the most unpredictable teams in the NHL, as well as one of the worst defensive teams. Their opponents have scored 3 or more goals in 6 of their last 7 outings, and that includes an 8 goal game against Carolina.
Meanwhile, The Jets are on a modest little 2 game winning streak. This comes after losing 4 straight games prior to that. They will actually play their next two games in Vancouver and will win at least one. Tonight, is our bet.
The Calgary Flames @ The San Jose Sharks Prediction
BET THE SHARKS. The Flames are in San Jose for the night to play the Pacific Division-leading Sharks. The Sharks had their 4-game winning streak (including 3 on the road) snapped by The Hawks on Sunday and are now looking to build their momentum back against the Flames.
Meanwhile, The Flames won their last game, but they played last night in Phoenix, so they may not be at their most fresh. We’re taking the Sharks picking up a home win to get back on track.
