Although their “magic number” hasn’t moved much over the past ten games, Los Angeles currently has a seven game lead on San Francisco in the NL West playoff race. The Dodgers are looking for even more breathing room as they face the Giants in a four game series that begins on Monday. Los Angeles, who own a 12-6 season series advantage against the Diamondbacks, are also battling the NY Mets for home field advantage in the NLDS as they hold a 1.5 game lead in that race.
Arizona Diamondbacks: Too little – to late down the MLB playoff stretch drive
After going 0-6 at Dodger Stadium earlier in the season, Arizona has played tough in this current four-game series as the Snakes won the first two contests (8-4 and 8-0) prior to Los Angeles winning 4-1 last night. It’s too little – too late for the Diamondbacks who will miss the MLB playoffs for the seventh time in eight years.
