Boston vs Montreal: Canadiens Face NHL Semifinal Elimination Game
Boston Bruins: Rest is the reward for a Game 6 win
After watching the New York Rangers force a Game 7 in their series versus the Penguins, the Bruins know they will get a little extra rest if they can finish off the Canadiens tonight. Boston looked fantastic in shutting down the Habs offense in the last two contests and they clearly look like a confident bunch. While we don't expect a sudden outburst of scoring from either team - a Bruins 3-1 or 4-2 final score seems about right.
Montreal Canadiens: Without their top lines scoring - Habs are toast
Although they have battled the Bruins hard throughout this Eastern Conference semifinal series, a lack of top line scoring is the primary reason why the Canadiens are facing elimination in this contest. Max Pacioretty and David Desharnais, who led all Montreal forwards in regular season scoring, have a combined one point during 5-on-5 play through nine postseason contests. Simply stated - that doesn't cut it during the NHL postseason.
