Dallas Stars vs Arizona Coyotes: Gila River Arena Showdown
Back on track, after a dismal 3-6-3 skid in January, Dallas has rolled to a 6-1-1 mark during eight contests in February. Playing on back-to-back nights, following a 3-2 overtime win in Nashville on Monday, the Stars dropped a 2-1 OT decision to the suddenly streaking St. Louis Blues on Tuesday night. With three games in hand on Chicago, Dallas is one point behind the Blackhawks in the race for first in the Western Conference. Arizona is headed in the opposite direction as the Coyotes have crashed during a 4-8-2 slide that began on January 14. After getting outscored by a 23-14 margin, while posting a 1-3-1 mark to open February, Arizona crushed the Montreal Canadiens 6-2 at home in their last game on Monday. The Yotes do have some promising players in place for the future.
Anaheim Ducks vs Vancouver Canucks: Pacific Division Rivalry Showdown at Rogers Arena
Another tale of teams headed in opposite directions, the red-hot Anaheim Ducks soar into Rogers Arena to battle a stumbling Vancouver Canucks squad. Anaheim is the hottest team in hockey as they have posted a 17-4-2 record since the Christmas break. The Ducks end a marathon seven game road trip that’s been very productive as they have won three in a row as part of a 4-1-1 roll during the first six matches. Largely smoke and mirrors all season long, Vancouver has fallen to fifth in the Pacific Division and they are six points back in the Wild Card race. The Canucks haven’t been good recently going 2-5-1 over their last eight games and they are 0-5-1 at home since January 11.
