Dallas vs Philadelphia: Cowboys Host the Eagles in an NFC East Rivalry Battle
Dallas Cowboys: Fighting for their playoff lives tonight
While this is huge game for both sides, it means somewhat more to Dallas as a loss would drop the Cowboys to 2-6 and place them three games behind the Giants and two game behind the Eagles. Due to a rash of injuries, most notably to QB Tony Romo and WR Dez Bryant, the Cowboys have dropped five straight games. During the losing streak, Dallas has been fairly competitive - especially in their 13-12 loss to Seattle last weekend. Dallas won the first meeting 20-10 in Philadelphia back in Week 2 NFL action and they have won five of the last eight contests in this series.
Philadelphia Eagles: High expectations have not panned out in the City of Brotherly Love
Sitting with a 3-4 record, Philadelphia has been largely underachieving as we hit the halfway point of the 2015 NFL season. Additions in the offseason, including Sam Bradford, Demarco Murray and Ryan Mathews have yet to gel in the high tempo offense employed by head coach Chip Kelly. The Eagles have played somewhat better recently, they are 3-2 after a 0-2 start, but they took a step backwards as they dropped a 27-16 decision to the Panthers in Carolina prior to their Week 8 bye.
Eagles vs Cowboys NFL Week 9 Prediction: Under the current plan, Matt Cassel is the Dallas pivot until Week 11 and, like Bradford, he isn’t much more than an average quarterback. The Cowboys also have a bit of a mess at running back as Raiders cast-off Darren McFadden is now their lead back. On the good news front, all-pro WR Dez Bryant is active for a second straight week.
