Detroit vs Cleveland: Tumbling Tigers Visit Inconsistent Indians
Detroit Tigers: Hot start has turned to a Motor City meltdown
Solid out of the MLB 2015 starting gate, with a 26-17 record on May 22, Detroit has fallen flat. The Tigers are 10-17 over their last 27 contests and they have dropped to third place in the AL Central. Pitching, both starting and closing, is an issue as Detroit (36-34) has been outscored by a 73-27 margin during ten losses in June. That said, the lone bright light in the Tigers rotation heads to the hill tonight as Detroit ace LHP David Price (6-2 ERA 2.50) gets the call for the Motor City Cats.
Cleveland Indians: Hot end of May run has gone somewhat cold in June
While a 14-23 start to their season may have crushed Cleveland, the Indians went on an impressive 10-3 run to close out May. June has been a different story as the Tribe have stumbled to a 6-11 mark over 17 games this month. Including their 8-5 loss in the opener of this three game series last night, Cleveland is 2-8 versus Detroit this season and they have been outscored by a 62-46 margin. RHP Danny Salazar (6-2 ERA 356) toes the rubber for the Indians in this contest.
Detroit vs Cleveland MLB Call: Tonight’s battle on the bump is a rematch of the Indians vs Tigers contest on June 12 that was won 4-0 by Detroit. Both pitchers have been hot over their last six starts as Salazar has allowed twelve runs over 35.2 innings pitched while Price has given up seven runs over 44.1 innings - including two complete games in June.
