NFL Week 14 Cardinals vs Vikings: Playoff Style Betting Action
Arizona Cardinals: Red Birds aim for a seventh straight win
Riding a six game winning streak, outscoring their opponents by a 179-117 margin, Arizona looks to clinch at least a Wild Card berth with a victory over the Vikings tonight. The Cardinals are 10-2 and they have built a three game lead on Seattle in the NFC West Division. Arizona needs to keep the pedal to the metal, probably for at least this week and next, as they still have work ahead to win the West and earn a first round playoff bye. This is especially true considering Seattle plays a battered Baltimore squad plus the lowly Cleveland Browns and St. Louis Rams prior to their Week 17 clash in Arizona. The Red Birds rank first in the NFL with 31.8 points per game on offense.
Minnesota Vikings: Limp into the desert still in control of their own playoff destiny
While there are way too many playoff possibilities to list here, if Minnesota wins out – they will earn an invitation to the 2016 NFL postseason party. Sitting with an 8-4 record, the Vikings own a one game lead on Seattle in the NFC Wild Card race and they are a tiebreaker behind Green Bay in the NFC North Division. Following tonight’s match, Minnesota gets the Bears (5-7) and Giants (5-7) at home prior to closing their season at Lambeau Field vs the Packers. Following a five-game winning streak, Minnesota has lost two of their last three contests – including the 38-7 blowout loss to the Seahawks at home last Sunday. The Vikings are 28th on offense averaging 19.8 points per game.
Vikings vs Cardinals 2015 NFL Week 14 Call: Minnesota limps into the desert tonight as their defense has been decimated by injuries. Ranking near the top at their respective positions, NT Linval Joseph, SLB Anthony Barr and FS Harrison Smith will all miss this contest tonight. Add in the loss of SS Andrew Sendejo and that’s a lot of domino’s falling in different directions. Filling each of those holes is almost impossible – especially when a team has just four days to apply the patches. We can’t see the Vikings containing the Cardinals top ranked NFL offense at home here. Giving due respect to NFL leading rusher RB Adrian Peterson, although he does face another tough matchup after getting shutdown by Seattle last week, we are buying this line down to -6.5 points.
