Minnesota Vikings vs Seattle Seahawks: NFC Ice Bowl Battle
Minnesota and Seattle will be battling more than just each other on Sunday as the temperature in Minneapolis is forecast to be near or below zero at game time. According to AccuWeather, it will feel like minus -17°F when the wind-chill is factored in. The cold makes the first match slightly irrelevant as the Seahawks crushed the Vikings 38-7 back in Week 13 when the temperature was 37°F in Minnesota – a balmy day by comparison eh? Bigger news could be the late scratch of RB Marshawn Lynch who was expected to make his first start since Week 10. We like the defense and the ample playoff experience the entire Seahawks team brings to the table here.
Green Bay vs Washington: Expect offense over defense in this Duel in the District
A pair of bend – sometime break – defensive squads will take the field in the US Capital as Green Bay allowed 346.7 total yards per game while Washington was even more generous giving up 380.6 YPG. Both offensive units were able to put points on the board as the Redskins averaged 24.3 PPG while the Packers weren’t far back scoring 23.0 PPG. There isn’t much history between these teams as they last played during Week 2 in 2013 when Green Bay whacked Washington 38-20 in the District. In common games this season they both beat the Rams by an identical 24-10 score, they both lost to Carolina (GB 37-29 WAS 44-16) while Green Bay went 1-1 versus Chicago and the Redskins beat the Bears 24-21 at Soldier Field. Back Aaron Rodgers over Kirk Cousins.
NFL 2016 NFC Wild Card Weekend Prediction: We don’t expect another blowout, in frozen Land of Lakes, but we see the Seattle defense being the difference over the Vikings. In a should be the highest scoring game of the weekend - the Packers playoff experience will serve them well versus Washington. We are backing both visitors with a three-unit parlay on the William Hill money lines.
