Boston Bruins: Still Eastern Conference top chalk
Despite dropping their conference semifinal series opener, 4-3 in double-overtime to Montreal, the Boston Bruins are still a +150 ML favorite to represent the East in the Stanley Cup Finals. Pittsburgh has closed the gap considerably as their price is now +200 while the Canadiens (+300) and New York Rangers (+500) are Eastern Conference underdogs. One game does not make a series and we still like the Bruins. Since their price has gone up from +120 ML before the playoffs, we'll lay another 200 units on Boston to win the East.
Chicago Blackhawks: New Western Conference Champion favorites
Whether it's because Chicago dumped a highly touted St. Louis Blues squad, or because Anaheim struggled against Dallas, the Blackhawks are the new top chalk in the West. The Hawks odds went from +375 prior to the quarterfinals to their current +150 price. Los Angeles is next as the Kings went from a +650 ML to a +250 ML prior to their series with Anaheim. For their part, the Ducks are the third favorite with a +275 money line, while the Minnesota Wild are +500 ML pups in the West. Give us Chicago for 300 units to win the West.
