Chicago White Sox: AL Wild Card berth still in sight
Though five games out of the race for the second AL Wild Card berth, and chasing five teams, the White Sox still have their sites set on the MLB playoffs. Chicago (55-59) came out of the All-Star break with an 9-5 run but have dropped three of their last four contests. Prior to a rare off-night during his last start, where he gave up eight hits and five runs to the Twins in a 10-8 Sox win, Sale had allowed just three runs and 22 hits over 31.2 innings pitched in July. Sale recorded 12 strikeouts in two of his four July starts (38 total) - he's a stud.

With the Houston Astros sporting a 47-66 record, and the Texas Rangers even worse at 44-69 overall, Texas sports fans are eagerly looking forward to the fast approaching NFL season. While occupying the MLB cellar area is nothing new to the Astros, the Rangers are in unfamiliar territory after advancing to the playoffs in their previous four seasons.
