Trimmed of almost half its members when MLB went to a six division format, the AL West was baseball’s smallest division for most of its existence. The recent addition of the Astros has added a nice inter-state rivalry with the Rangers as well as made the division the same size as the other five. While those Rangers, the Seattle Mariners and the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim have all had their time at the top of the West, the most successful team as the been Oakland who has used “moneyball” to find promising players at bargain basement prices as well as developed their own prospects to repeated postseason appearances.

How To Bet On American League West

While the AL West showcases its big bats and array of strong starters like the other divisions in the American League, where it lacks is in postseason success. While the Rangers have been to the World Series on a couple of occasions, the division’s only championship came with the Angels in their lone trip to the Fall Classic.

Whoever you wager on in the AL West, the odds are usually provided by a money line. For example if the Angels are favourites in a game against the Mariners, the Angels will have a negative line and the underdog Mariners will have a positive one.
